Set Up Printing in Windows

To ensure your printer settings are retained in Sparkbooth, configure all settings through the Windows Control Panel. The settings accessed via the Test and Setup buttons in Sparkbooth do not persist after the application restarts. Follow these steps to set up printing on Windows:

  1. Set Default Printer in Windows:
    • Open the Control Panel and navigate to Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click on your printer and select Set as default printer.
    • Right-click the printer again and choose Printing preferences to configure the default paper size and other settings.
  1. Configure Sparkbooth Printing Settings:
    • Open Sparkbooth and press F1 to display the Settings dialog.
    • Select Printing options.

    • Check Enable printing if you want to automatically print during each session.
    • Click the "Printer setup" link to navigate to Settings > Printer Setup and select your printer.

    • Press the Test button. This will display the print dialog. Select your printer and click Properties to verify the configuration. When done, press OK to print a test layout. If you do not want to print a test layout, turn off the printer and delete the print job from the printer queue.

If Printing Issues Persist:

If you are still unable to print, your printer may have specific settings that cannot be set as default through the Control Panel. You may need to set up the printer each time you start Sparkbooth:

  1. Open Sparkbooth Settings.
  2. Select Printing options.
  3. Press the Setup button to display the Setup dialog. Select the paper size and press OK to close the Setup dialog.
  4. Press the Test button to display the Print dialog. Ensure your printer is selected, and configure other printer-specific settings via the Properties button. Press Print to test the setup.
  5. If available, check the option "Always Print with Current Settings". If this option is not present, these settings cannot be saved and must be reconfigured each time Sparkbooth is restarted.

  6. Additionally, try toggling the "Automatically scale photo to fit paper size" and/or "Center layout on paper" options in Sparkbooth's printing settings.
