Set Up GIF Booth Mode
Configuring and Using GIF Booth Mode in Sparkbooth
GIF Booth mode configures Sparkbooth to take a series of photos and assemble them into an animated GIF. You can also create rewind GIFs that cycle through the frames back and forth. There are two ways to access GIF Booth:
Accessing GIF Booth
- App Mode:
By setting Sparkbooth to GIF Booth mode, it will only take GIFs.
- Via Photo Booth Mode:
In the default Photo Booth mode, you can allow guests to either start a Photo Booth or GIF Booth session.
- This can be enabled under Settings > GIF Booth > GIF Booth Settings > Enable the "Select Photo Booth or GIF Booth" screen.
- On Start Screen: This option will display the Photo or GIF Booth buttons on the start screen.
- On Session Start: This option will display the Photo or GIF Booth buttons after starting the session.
Camera Recommendations
- If you are using a DSLR camera, GIF Booth will capture photos from the camera's live view. However, it is recommended to use a webcam instead since the photos will be of higher resolution than the DSLR live view.
Creating Animated GIFs from Photo Booth Mode
Animated GIFs can also be created from photos taken in Photo Booth mode. If the photo layout contains two or more photos, you can create animated GIFs from these photos.
- Enable GIF Saving:
- Go to Settings > Photo Booth > Photo Booth GIFs and enable the "Save animated GIF from photo booth photos" setting.
- Configure Uploading:
- If uploading has been configured, you can use the uploading setting to either upload the photo layout, the animated GIF, or let the guest decide.
- Sharing GIFs via MMS: Service providers may alter any media sent to mobile devices, which can affect the quality or frame rate of the GIF. It is recommended to upload the GIF to a photo host and send an SMS link to the GIF, or send the GIF via email instead.
