General Settings

Explanation of options available in the "General" settings menu of Sparkbooth, which can be customized to optimize the photo booth experience.

  1. Change Language This setting allows you to change the default language of the Sparkbooth interface, which is useful if you need to operate the software in a different language to cater to diverse users.
  2. Select Screens Timeout Adjust the duration before timeout for selection screens at the beginning of a session, including choosing photo layouts, color effects, overlays, and green screen backgrounds. This is particularly helpful in controlling how long users have to make their selections before the screen progresses automatically.
  3. Prompt Timeout Controls the timeout duration for various prompt screens, such as print prompts, email/telephone number entry, and other interactive screens during the session. This ensures prompts don’t linger too long, keeping the flow of the session smooth and efficient.
  4. Decorate Timeout Adjusts the amount of time users have to decorate their photos by drawing or placing stickers. This setting is useful for providing users enough time to personalize their photos, or reducing it if speed is essential in high-traffic areas.
  5. Done Message Display Determines how long the "Thank you" message is displayed at the end of the session, allowing you to customize the duration based on how long you want users to see the final screen before the booth resets for the next session.
  6. Upload Timeout Adjusts the timeout duration for uploading photos to other services like Google Drive or Twilio. This setting is beneficial if you need to extend or shorten the upload time depending on the speed of your internet connection or the service being used.
  7. Mailing List Enables the submission of emails to a MailChimp mailing list, making it easy to build and manage your mailing list directly from Sparkbooth, which is particularly useful for follow-up marketing after events.
  8. Queue Photos Enables saving photos to the "Send Photo Later" queue, which is handy if immediate sending is not possible or desired, allowing you to queue photos for later distribution.
  9. Enable Sound Ensures that all audible elements, such as voices and sound effects, are enabled during the session. This setting enhances the user experience, particularly in environments where sound contributes to the ambiance.
  10. Always Hide Mouse Cursor Hides the mouse cursor during the session, particularly useful for touchscreen devices. This is ideal for maintaining a clean and professional display, especially when using a touchscreen, as it prevents the cursor from distracting users.
  11. Start Fullscreen Determines whether Sparkbooth starts in fullscreen mode, which is useful for ensuring the software always opens in a way that provides a more immersive experience and prevents users from interacting with other elements on the screen.

These settings provide flexibility in customizing the photo booth experience to suit different event needs and user interactions. Adjust these settings based on your specific requirements to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
